There is never a dull moment in the wilderness as guests of Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge discovered while out on an after noon game drive.
A tale is told of two hyenas out on a prowl at Amboseli National Park in search of early dinner when they catch a glimpse of a lone wildebeest. Hyenas are more scavengers than hunters, but that doesn’t mean once in a while they will not hunt. The two hyenas succeeded in making the catch making for a perfect way to end the day.
The glorious moment however was not to last as two lions entered the scene, chasing away the hyenas and taking over their kill. looks like they had it too easy if you ask us.
From a distance however, a herd of buffaloes were not too pleased and decided to intervene, chasing away the lions. The lions know better than to try fight a herd of aggressive buffaloes and decided to get out of the way holding on tightly to whatever chunk of meat they could get. still, it was too late, and not much of the catch was left for the hyenas to come back to.
