Serena Hotels , which jointly won the award for the “ Best Corporate Social Responsibility Programme “ makes its mark in the hospitality industry by creating high quality accommodation and leisure facilities for business travelers and tourists in various regions in Africa and Asia where Serena properties are located. The company’s sustainable business practises and corporate social responsibility initiatives highlight its belief that it is not just about philanthropy and compliance, but  also a holistic approach about how  the company manages its economic, social and environmental impact, with a strong emphasis on measuring its success, not only in terms of financial gain, but by how much it has contributed towards local economic development, environmental conservation and social justice.

Not only has Serena Hotels consistently remained sensitive towards improving and preserving the environment in which it operates, the company continues to give priority to local communities living around areas where it operates so as to ensure economic independence.

Said Mr Mahmud Janmohamed the Managing Director “ We firmly believe that irresponsible tourism must be consigned to the past and as  we understand that  today’s traveller is more discerning and better informed, we must ensure that the hotels they stay at contribute in a sustainable manner towards the eco-system and culture of the destination. This recognition of our efforts is momentous and we thank all those who voted for Serena Hotels.”
