THURSDAY KENYAN SPECIALITIES BUFFET

Go east or west home is always the best! We often have had opportunities to venture outside of our familiarity, be it in travel or even in our culture. However it is a fact that we never forget our roots, there will always be that bugging, insatiable, craving to retrace our steps. At Nairobi Serena Hotel we have never strayed away from our traditional cuisine. We love catering for our homegrown guests who know not any other taste apart from what has been handed down overtime from our ancestry.

This and every Thursday we have drawn up a special menu for all lovers of authentic Kenyan food. Our Lunch menu at Café Maghreb has a special provision for this niche with a range of tastes to choose from. For starters we will spoil you with Roast pumpkin cream soup accompanied with an array of salads.  The cold cut selection includes seafood platter, grilled vegetables, smoked sailfish and much more. I have intentionally preserved the best for last, Avocado fan!!! Yes you got that right; it’s a typical Kenyan thing- never a complete picture without it! The cold cut selection is accompanied by condiments, pickles and chutneys that are all Kenyan specialties.

Finally where the fun is!! The hot dishes! Talk of Stewed Njahi, Mukimo, Nduma(Arrowroot), Ugali, Kenyan beef stew with vegetables, Chapati, Limuru Boiled Maize, the list is endless. At the Café Maghreb poolside you will have an additional option of Chicken “Kienyeji”, Mbuzi Chemsha and Gichiri Choma.

The dessert entails Fresh fruit salad, tropical fruit slices, Kenyan Coffee Terrine and a lot more. While at it you can have some freshly brewed Tea or coffee. Kenyan Cheese Board with Crackers and relishes have also been availed.
