Serena Hotels Nominated for World Travel Awards 2017!

Serena Group of Hotels is pleased to announce their multiple nominations for the 24th annual World Travel Awards. Nine of the Hotel Management Group properties have received nominations this year, proving their continued success within the awards programme.

The World Travel Awards identifies and rewards global product excellence within the travel, tourism and hospitality industry each year and are considered the most prestigious and comprehensive award programme in the travel industry.

Award recipients are selected by online vote by both travel professionals and consumers. Voting will conclude on 21st August 2017, with awards presented on 10th October 2017 at the Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony at the Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai, China.

Kigali Serena Hotel leads the pack with an impressive seven nominations. For the first time ever, Kigali Serena Hotel has been nominated as Africa’s Leading Business hotel, Africa’s Leading Conference Hotel, Rwanda’s Leading Conference Hotel, Rwanda’s leading City Hotel and Rwanda’s Leading Hotel Suite in addition to being nominated as Rwanda’s leading Hotel. Polana Serena Hotel in Mozambique has also been nominated for Mozambique leading hotel and Mozambique’s Leading Hotel Suite awards both of which they look to retain for yet another year.

Kampala Serena Hotels has received two nominations at this year’s World Travel Awards . The city hotel aims to retain their title of Uganda’s Leading Hotel for another year as well as attain a second within their additional nomination categories including Uganda’s leading Hotel Suite award for Uganda’s leading presidential suite. Also competing for the same titles is Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa. 

Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel received an impressive four nominations this year and hopes to retain the titles for Tanzania’s Leading Hotel and Tanzania’s Leading Hotel Suite as well as attain a new title as Africa’s Leading Hotel and Tanzania’s leading Business Hotel. 

Zanzibar Serena Hotel, one of the top exotic destinations hotels under Serena Hotels has annually received recognition at the World Travel Awards as Zanzibar’s Leading Hotels. On top of this awards, this year Zanzibar Serena Hotels hopes to retain the award for Tanzania’s Leading Boutique hotel for the second year running. 

Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge alongside Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge have been nominated for Tanzania’s Leading Safari Lodge. The two properties make a return on the nomination list after missing out for more than five years and are hoping that this will be their year. On the Kenyan side, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge and Serena Mountain Lodge have also been nominated for the Kenya’s Leading Safari Lodges
