The wait is over! Nairobi Serena Hotel Opens Newly Refurbished Wing

Nairobi Serena Hotel is pleased to announce the completion of the phase one of its ongoing refurbishment that will be open from 1st September 2018. The refurbishment program is in line with Serena Hotels commitment to continuously improve its products and is aligned to respond to changing global trends and needs of leisure and corporate clientele. The five-star hotel, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, is well known for preserving the rich Pan-African inspired culture expressed through its interiors and unique décor accents.

The refurbishment is being managed in 2 phases. This first phase, now complete and ready for use, focuses on the North wing that includes a state of the art ballroom with a capacity to hold 450 people in theater style but can also break out into 2 separate conference rooms to accommodate a capacity of 190 people each in a ballroom style seating and 600 people in a classroom style. An additional two delegate meeting rooms, Lilly and Orchid, have been added on the ground and second floor respectively with a capacity of 14 people each, and will complement the existing Lantana, Canna and Hibiscus meeting rooms.

The newly refurbished wing also includes a parking silo that can accommodate 120 cars with a provision for VIP parking as well as the physically challenged, a porte cochère, new front of house areas with a spacious lobby, an executive floor on the additional 7th floor that comes with its own executive lounge to cater for the needs of premier clients and includes 3 private meeting rooms that can hold 6, 10 and 16 people respectively, as well as larger remodelled bedrooms. In total, this bring the number of rooms on the new wing to 105 up from 99 with 95 fully upgraded rooms including 4 executive Suites, 7 Deluxe Twin Rooms and 84 Deluxe Rooms.

Guests can also look forward to a new fusion restaurant scheduled for opening in November 2018 which will complement the current Food and Beverage experience offered at the all-day Café Maghreb restaurant, Mandhari fine dining restaurant and the Aksum Bar which remain operational.

The second phase (south wing) of the hotel’s refurbishment commences in September 2018 and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2019 when the full room inventory of 199 rooms-across a wide range of room types will be in operation.
