Sweetwaters Serena Camp and Ol Pejeta House are located on the 110,000 acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Southern Laikipia. We regret the current problems brought about by the drought in the area and remain confident that the government, private sector and the pastoralist communities are working hand in hand to reinforce law and order whilst they seek a lasting solution.
The affected area is about 100Kms away from the Ol Pejeta Conservancy where we are located. The Conservancy remains fully supported by its neighbors and is entirely unaffected.
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is the largest black rhino sanctuary in Eastern Africa and operates a very elaborate and strong security system to ensure the safety of all clients and wildlife alike. The conservancy stakeholders believe that neighboring communities must be fully integrated into the landscape scale opportunity for conservation and that is what Ol Pejeta and its partners will continue to work towards.
We wish to reassure all our guests of their safety and security as they visit our properties Sweetwaters Serena Camp and the Ol Pejeta House.
We remain vigilant and will continue to provide updates on the situation .We also encourage you to visit this link for real time updates laikipiaupdates.olpejetaconservancy.org/
