Family travel is all about finding a destination that has something for everyone. But families are different; some yearn for the beach, for some it’s the excitement of being on a safari while others it’s the serenity of a destination or the exclusivity of it. Whatever your passion, Serena Hotels has properties in some of the leading destinations in Africa that will ensure everyone has the time of a lifetime.

  1. Build castles in the sand

There is no strip of sand quite like the Serena beach Resort and Spa. The kids can ride a camel along the beach, build castles on the sand, kick a footy, or play some water sports, before watching the sun slip into the ocean. The Swahili history is pretty interesting, too. Start off your day with breakfast at the Sokoni restaurant and then head over to the pool for a dip. Later in the afternoon, spoil the kids with ice-cream at the Ice cream parlor before visiting the Butterfly Park or the turtle hatchery for some lessons on conservation. End your day over some scrumptious sea food at the Jahazi grill where the setting is beautifully characterized by ceiling with sails that transform you out to the ocean.

2. Become one with nature

Only 2 hours from Nairobi, and now accepting children as young as 3 years old, make a quick getaway from the city to enjoy some serenity and the fresh Mountain air as you stay at Mountain lodge this Easter. Have the family enjoy their favorite drinks by the balcony as you watch elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and various bird species stop by the watering hole. How about some adventure for the whole family? Go on a nature walk to learn more on the flora and fauna that makes up the Mount Kenya forest. Later in the day, enjoy some family time by the fireplace as you reminisce about the activities of the day
