It is a festival dear to heart for the Serena Hotel family in Uganda and it gives us so much joy watching it grow bigger and better. But what exactly is Mavuno Yetu Night?
‘Mavuno Yetu’ is a Swahili phrase meaning ‘Our Harvest’ .
Mavuno Yetu Night is an evening of excitement; celebrating culture, beauty, abundant food and goodness of East Africa. (through food, fashion, song and dance). The event is an extraordinary culinary journey across Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Kenya.
This event was started in 2011 as a Ugandan night, and has over time grown to include the greater East African Community. It is now an annual East Africa Cultural Night –organized by Serena Group and held at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort every November and this year it is scheduled to take place on Friday 13th November ,2015
So what can guests look forward to? A cultural night with a hearty African banquet featuring a variety of traditional cuisines prepared by visiting chefs from East Africa, including South Sudan, prepared the real way; authentic & splendid. Most of the signature and popular dishes from these regions including the famous nyama choma and local brews will feature and all are welcome to taste and appreciate the rich culinary art of the East African people.
Apart from the food, guests can also look forward to a night of fun filled activities including traditional dances, fashion show showcasing purely African fashion modeled by EA beauty and designed by regional designers Kush B and K-Rafael. There will also be live band entertainment by the legendary Afrigo band and so much more.
