When a guest staying with you has nothing but good things to say about your establishment, it is truly a badge of honor and the best thumbs-up we could ever hope for. We booked 3 nights at the Kilaguni Serena, my dad first heard about it from work. They had a meeting here and he loved the place! He loved it so much he came back to Nairobi and the next holiday, we packed the Land Cruiser and we were off to Kilaguni! What made him love this place so much? Well;

The service was beyond belief! My parents booked a suite while we had a triple room, the beds were spacious and we had a view of the watering hole. This is where the elephants came to drink. We had no concerns, so we didn’t call the reception. The safe worked, the air conditioning worked, the TV worked and the WiFi was okay. It wasn’t the best. The rooms generally were well equipped.

The location was good. It was a long drive from Nairobi, but the road was good all the way to the hotel. The last stretch was unpaved but, not to the point that it was uncomfortable. You do have the option to fly and get the hotel staff to send a car to get you from the airstrip. The hotel is near some sort of water body, this place was amazing because it had this viewing place made of glass so you can see crocodiles and fish swimming around.

The food was very good, fresh and a wide variety of it was accessible. There was vegetarian options for all you non-meat eaters out there (you are missing out, but I love your dedication!) And all of this was very close to the rooms, so you don’t have to walk long distances to and from dinner.

The pool was large and it was a quiet place to relax or sunbathe, the pool was always clean and was always ready for use. It is perfect for the little ones as there was a toddler pool too. Just so they don’t miss out on the fun.

This is an amazing place. If you are looking for somewhere to go with family, with friends, for business, with couples or even solo. This is the place to be. Hands down one of the best hotels i’ve had the pleasure to stay in. If you are in Tsavo West, look nowhere else!
